Most Insulting Article Ever?
There are good ways to discuss scientific studies, bad ways, and then truly terrible ways.
An article in AskMen about female attractiveness falls into the latter category. The author, Ian Lang, uses phrases like “big, honking jugs” without irony, which is problematic.
The study Lang references is real and indicates that men rate women with lower BMI as more attractive.
However, Lang’s crude comments about “child-bearing hips” and health misrepresent the study’s findings.
Attraction varies widely, and making blanket statements about it is preposterous. Respectful discussion about such topics is necessary, not the objectification of women’s bodies.
